Discontinuation of STS standard product range on RailTicketing.

All Swiss Travel Passes now available via RailRicketing will be deactivated as per 30 November 2019. Thus, all agents are given enough time to adjust internal processes, if necessary, so that everybody can benefit from the e-ticketable STS products as soon as possible. Tailor-made tickets are not affected by this and will remain available via RailTicketing for the time being.

Adjustments in area of validity of Swiss Travel Pass 2020.

As per 1 January 2020, the Klewenalp with its magnificent view of Lake Lucerne will be fully included in the area of validity of the Swiss Travel Pass. The discount for excursions to the Schilthorn will be adjusted and will return to 50% in 2020 (currently 100%). Excursions to the Brunni, Mount Rigi, Stanserhorn and Stoos will remain fully covered by the Swiss Travel Pass.

Adjustments as of 2020
Market test group luggage.

The market test will again be prolonged for another year. Presently, groups of 10 or more persons can book the offer “group luggage express door-to-door” until 31 December 2020 and check-in a maximum total of 50 pieces of luggage. The net rate is now CHF 300. The increase in price is necessary in order to improve cost coverage and ensure the possibility to maintain this offer on a long-term basis. The attractive service offers groups more flexibility with their daily program – reducing hustle and bustle when changing transportation as well as time-consuming temporary storage.

Gotthard Panorama Express.

The eventful panoramic journey by train and boat starts into the next season on 18 April 2020 and continues to operate until 18 October 2020. New: The Gotthard Panorama Express will run to/from Arth-Goldau and thus allow many new and interesting combinations. For instance, it now connects to the Rigi Railways and the Voralpen-Express. Moreover, the panoramic train offers more capacity thanks to an additional 1st class panoramic coach and is thus able to handle the increased customer demand.
